Continuing education
Save A Life has some of the most important courses you can take as a paramedic.
Many programs let you graduate with your ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS.
If yours didn’t, you can get certified right here, online.
These are especially necessary if you plan on moving for work or want to become a travel medic.
Certification Programs
CAAHEP or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
Jeez, that’s a mouthful.
But it’s a great website. They have an awesome feature where you can find accredited programs near you.
Don’t want to go through a whole year of Paramedic class only to find out it wasn’t really accredited.
Flight paramedic is a super appealing job.
Well not for me.
I’m not a fan of heights. Or tiny boxes hundreds of feet in the air held up by razor blades.
If Kobe’s not safe no one is safe.

Critical Care
Interfacility isn’t for everyone.
But if it’s for you, you’re going to need to know all about ventilators.
You also need to know a lot more about medications. Stuff you don’t normally find in your drug box.

Mental Health
Magnesium Supplement
Amazing for sleep. These were recommended to me by an Army Ranger and I’ve never looked back.
There’s a melatonin and non-melatonin version.
Struggle Well.
Be warned, it can get pretty intense.
But you get out of it what you put in. It’s a five day program run by first responder for military, police, and fire.
100% can’t recommend it enough.
