An EKG showing a posterior STEMI that paramedics can often miss if they don't read them correctly

I love learning about cardiology.

Unfortunately, when I first got interested in the inner workings of the heart, I had a hard time figuring out where to start.

So, if you are trying to learn more about cardiology, here’s the best way to get started:

  • Read This Book: Rapid Interpretation of EKGs by Dale Dubin will give you a lay of the land, and is a helpful way to get your bearings.
  • Watch This YouTube Video: EKG Basics by Ninja Nerd is a must-watch beginner resource for anyone interested in reading EKGs. It’s long but worth it.
  • Use Your Textbook: Specifically, study the glossary at the end of your cardiology chapter. You have to speak the language to make any headway in cardiology.

These 3 resources will exponentially accelerate your learning process.

Seriously, this is the best video I’ve ever seen on EKG reading.

It goes super in depth without overwhelming. I came out of the other side understanding way more about how EKGs are taken, what to look for, and common mistakes people make.

The video is about an hour long but the investment is worth it.
